The Armed Services Department of the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce has superbly supported all military personnel, their families, and their local businesses for decades, making Pensacola well known as the most military friendly community in the nation.  This is the fifth U.S. Navy ship commissioning supported by the Chamber.  The Pensacola Council of the Navy League was established in 1946 and exists to educate the public and elected officials on the importance of a strong maritime component for our National Security and support and advocate for the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine.  The Marine Corps League was incorporated by an act of Congress in 1937 and exists to promote the interests and to preserve the traditions of the U.S. Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who wear or have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor; and to foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
