Here's What You Told us in Pensacola
On June 25, we traveled to Pensacola for the release of the Florida 2030 recommendations for Northwest Florida, where we heard and learned from business, education, community, elected and philanthropic leaders. Your thoughts and conversations for the success of your region echoed what we continue to hear across the state: Florida is ready to compete and succeed but we must be ready to face future challenges head-on.
Special thanks to the team at Navy Federal Credit Union and Gulf Power for sponsoring this roll out and to each of our speakers:
HERE'S WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY
We asked you what leaders in your region should focus on to succeed in 2030 and beyond. Here are the top three things you shared:
1. ADDRESS INFRASTRUCTURE & CONNECTIVITY NEEDS
According to Florida 2030 research, Florida must focus on future connectivity needs in order to remain competitive. For Pensacola, that means ensuring the region's transportation infrastructure is ready to connect Floridians to jobs, schools, goods and more.
2. BETTER CONNECT BUSINESS AND TALENT
Overwhelmingly, feedback from the Pensacola Florida 2030 rollout focused on the need for a future workforce that is ready to meet the needs of the region. That means ensuring businesses are connected to the right talent, finding work-based learning opportunities to grow skills and ensuring young learners are career-ready. You shared that for Pensacola to succeed- your region must focus on education, skills and talent development for learners and earners of all ages.

3. STRENGTHEN QUALITY OF LIFE
Aligning resources to ensure leaders are working together and focused on strengthening Pensacola's quality of life is key for success. Leaders in Pensacola should collaborate to ensure the youngest and oldest residents, and everyone in between, have livable communities that foster overall growth for each community.
