Chamber Seminar Series

The Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce has made a commitment to support member business development by organizing the 2012 Seminar Series. This program offers seminars and workshops on topics of interest to businesses. The Chamber seeks members to serve as presenters in this program. Selected presenters volunteer to conduct workshops and seminars of approximately 60 minutes in length, to be scheduled between March and December 2012. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals for multiple topics. All seminars are held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

The following criteria is used to select presenters for the 2012 Seminar Series:
  • All presenters must be members of the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Nonmembers interested in serving as a presenter should contact Emilie Randall, account executive for information on membership.
  • Presenters must have expertise in the topics being presented and have a demonstrated ability to tailor the session to the needs of businesses.
  • Presenter qualifications will reflect competencies in presentation and workshop facilitation.
  • Program description, learning objectives, and supplementing handouts/materials will be evaluated for clarity, quality, cohesion, and relevance to the business community.
  • Program materials will be evaluated to ensure presenters inform without becoming an “infomercial”.

Presenter responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality educational workshop with an hour of content for up to 30 participants.
  • Provide actionable items for participants to implement in their business practices.
  • Provide all materials for the session for participants.
  • Coordinate with Chamber staff regarding any special equipment needs.
  • Do not solicit vendor products/services to attendees before, during or after the session.
  • Ensure the session is not perceived as a vendor “infomercial.”

Chamber responsibilities:

  • Aggressively promote the educational series through Chamber communications pieces, including:
    • Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce email marketing materials (monthly, 3000 emailed)
    • Promotion via social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
    • www.pensacolachamber.com event section
    • Announcements at committee meetings and special events
  • Promote vendor’s name and subject matter in promotional materials and online.
  • Register participants and provide vendor with attendee list for post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate with vendor regarding special equipment and material needs for the session.

HOSTING OPPORTUNITIES

All presenters have the opportunity to host sessions at their offices or choose to present in the Chamber boardroom. Presenting locations are promoted on our Web site and in Business Brain Food Weekly Educational Series promotional materials.

Host locations must:
  • Be able to open to Chamber staff for set-up 45 minutes prior to session start time.
  • Have a conference room or area that can accommodate up to 30 people.
  • Be able to provide any A/V equipment needed for the session.
  • Offer ample, free parking to attendees.
  • Provide directions and parking instructions to Chamber staff to distribute to attendees.
  • Provide drinks (coffee, water, soda, juice, etc.) to attendees.
  • Be a Chamber member in good standing.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Sponsoring a seminar is the perfect opportunity to expose your business or organization to fellow chamber members. Cost of sponsorship is $250.

In exchange, the sponsor will receive:
  • Listed as sponsor of event in the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce newsletter (monthly, 3000 emailed).
