When local candidate qualifying ended at noon on Friday, June 22nd six candidates qualified to run for Mayor of Pensacola, seven candidates qualified to run for Escambia County Commission, District 4 and three candidates qualified for Escambia County Commission, District 2.
These are just three of the high-profile races that local voters will have the opportunity to vote on during the August 28th primary. Candidates also qualified for Pensacola City Council Districts 4 and 6, Escambia County School Board Districts 1, 2 and 3 and Escambia County Utilities Authority Districts 2 and 4. District 2 City Council member Sherri Myers was re-elected as no one qualified to run against her.
Local voters will also have the opportunity to cast their votes for Escambia County Court Judge, Escambia County Soil and Water Conservation District and Town of Century City Council.
