PENSACOLA BAY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTS FIFTH ANNUAL STRATEGIC HEALTH INTELLIGENCE SUMMIT

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Nov. 1, 2011 -- The rapid transformation of American healthcare again takes center stage as national healthcare leaders descend on Pensacola to discuss and promote healthcare efficiencies leveraging information technology.

Hosted by the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, the Strategic Health Intelligence Summit to be held Nov. 15-16 features an all-star line up of who’s who in American healthcare policy, technology and innovation.

The Strategic Health Intelligence Summit brings together national leaders in the Department of Defense, Department of Veteran Affairs, healthcare organizations and private sector innovators to advance information technology as a means to transform healthcare in the 21st Century. The 5th annual Strategic Health Intelligence Summit will focus on leveraging local, state, and national data connections to realize meaningful healthcare outcomes.

“Healthcare providers and those associated with healthcare administration, information technology and information assurance will get an up close view of where health care is really headed,” said Dr. Michael Brown, Chairman of the Board, Strategic Health Intelligence. “Unique to our summit, business and government leaders have a unique opportunity to better anticipate where health care savings will be in the future.”

Summit attendees will view a live demonstration of operational data exchanges while exploring the potential benefits of the latest mobile products, learn the latest strategies for promoting widespread adoption of electronic medical records, view the most recent healthcare products and concepts, discuss issues with leading executives and health information experts. The Innovation Hour will feature up to 10 innovators that have an opportunity to introduce a new idea, concept, product or innovation that will transform healthcare in the 21st century.

In addition to the Strategic Health Intelligence Summit, The Center for the Advancement of Health IT, a Regional Extension Center, will host a physician office workshop. The workshop will focus on meaningful use incentives and EHR readiness. This is an opportunity for physician offices to get an in-depth understanding of achieving meaningful use and attaining broad connectivity. A special discount will be offered to practices that wish to attend both events. The workshop is held on Monday, 14th at 1:00 p.m.

“If you are a physician or practice administrator who’s looking to not only solve the connectivity challenge but to also add business value to your organization you will want to attend this Summit,” said Dr. Paul Glisson, board member, Strategic Health Intelligence. “If you are contemplating making investments in health information technology, this year’s Summit is a can’t miss event.”

“This summit brings together the most knowledgeable experts in healthcare and information assurance to have high-level discussions on deploying new technological advancements for improving our healthcare industry,” stated Craig Dalton, Vice President, Armed Services, Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. “The seeds of several national initiatives were launched from discussions from our past four Summits. We anticipate the trend will continue this year with our diverse yet extremely relevant discussion topics.”

The summit will be held at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front. For more information, call Ashley Spikes at (850) 438-4081 or aspikes@pensacolachamber.com, or log on to www.strategichealthintelligence.com/summit.
