Education

Highly rated elementary and secondary schools contribute to both quality of life and the exceptional labor pool. The Escambia Country School District’s Pensacola High School ranked as one of “America's Best High Schools” in Newsweek magazine’s list of “America’s Best High Schools,” reflecting the excellent level of education in the Pensacola area.

Florida is very excited to offer the Bright Star Program. In 1997, the Florida Legislature created the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. This Florida Lottery-Funded Scholarship rewards students for their academic achievements during high school by providing funding for them to pursue postsecondary educational and career goals in Florida.

The University of West Florida, Troy University, Pensacola Junior College and Pensacola Christian College (http://www.pcci.edu/) provide an ample supply of well-educated workers to area employers.

In addition, several vocational-technical or career schools in the area award associates degrees or certificates in business and computer-related programs, trades, engineering-related technologies, and health professions.
