General Information
Eligibility
Application is open to people living and working in the Pensacola Bay Area.
Applications
Applications will be emailed to nominees the first week of March and are to be returned with a $25 non-refundable application fee by March 16. Applications are confidentially reviewed by a Selection Committee comprised of community leaders. Applicants are notified in May of class selection. Fifty class members are chosen for each class. Since class size is limited, the selection process is competitive.
Every effort is made to reflect the cultural and ethnic richness of the community to achieve a balanced representation of the community, and it is not unusual for applicants to apply more than once.
Applicants representing a corporation or organization must have the full support of their employer or sponsoring organization. Individuals do not need to be associated with a business or organization to apply.
Selection Criteria
Leadership Pensacola participants are selected by members of the LeaP Selection Committee, which is composed of program graduates and community representatives.
Criteria for selection includes:
- A history of involvement or a strong desire to become actively involved in the community.
- A willingness to serve the Pensacola Bay Area community following graduation by assuming greater leadership responsibilities within civic, charitable, and community organizations.
- A desire to remain in the Pensacola Bay Area.
- A commitment to program attendance and participation requirements.
Selection is based solely on an applicant's merit from the information provided in the application.
