United Way Emerging Leaders Society Board Training

Have you ever thought about serving on the board of directors of one of the many non-profit health and human service organizations, but just not sure what it takes? If so, you won't want to miss the United Way of Escambia County Emerging Leaders Society's Board Works: A Non-Profit Board Service Seminar. Learn as area health and human service executive directors, seasoned board members and community leaders share how to be an effective board member in the non-profit sector.

Monday Morning Leadership is a best seller by well-known business author David Cottrell.
This three hour session will enhance the leadership skills of anyone in or aspiring to be in a managerial role. Even today’s strongest leaders must refocus on the qualities that helped them earn a spot at the decision table. All leaders will tell you a key to their success was having a great mentor and the lessons learned from him/her. It high­lights eight mentoring methods to becoming a better leader.

Place: Carrabba's Italian Grill
Cost: $20 for members, $35 for non-members (includes lunch)

At this event attendees are placed at tables and given time to introduce their company, products, services and client base to the other members at their table. Once everyone has had a turn, attendees are rotated to another table to start again.

Friday, May 22 from 7:30- 9:00 a.m.
Place: The Tea Party, in the Crown Plaza (200 E. Gregory St. 32502)
Cost: Free

This popular FREE networking program draws about 50 to 60 attendees to the host's business for networking, member introductions, a brief host presentation and door prize drawings. It's a great opportunity for you to showcase your business.
